Interpreting
When preparing an event or a conference you try to make sure that everything is perfect down to the last detail; the agenda, your guests’ arrival and stay, the arrangement of the conference room etc. Why not let us take care of the most important aspect: guarantee that your message will be heard loud and clear and understood by all participants.
Interpretit is here to ensure seamless communication throughout your event or conference. Our company is made up from and works exclusively with qualified interpreters, with long-standing experience and expertise in various fields ; members of national and international professional associations (PEEMPIP, FIT, EULITA, SYDISE), while most of them accredited by International Organisations.
Quality knows no compromise and this is why we work with qualified professionals who abide by and/or respect the relevant Codes of Ethics (PEEMPIP, AIIC, IAPTI, FIT, EULITA). Each time we choose the interpreter that meets the special requirements of your event on the basis of their experience and expertise. This is how we provide tailor-made solutions and build robust and long-standing collaborations with our clients.
We are here to help you overcome any communication barriers by taking over every language-related aspect of your event:
Modes of interpreting
Consecutive or whispered interpreting are most commonly used in bilateral business or informal meetings. The interpreter translates for a limited number of people.
- Simultaneous interpreting: the message is uttered in one language and simultaneously rendered into another language, allowing the meeting to progress smoothly without any interruptions. Special technical equipment is required (booth, microphones, headphones, etc.)
- Consecutive interpreting: The message is interpreted into another language, as soon as the speaker finishes their utterance. This mode is more time-consuming compared to simultaneous interpreting, since twice as much time is necessary.
- Whispered interpreting: Simultaneous interpreting without equipment; this mode is used in specific cases (for one or two participants) and for a limited amount of time, while acoustics can be a problem for the interpreter.
Interpreting at Courtrooms, police stations, immigration agencies, etc., but also at notary offices for the purpose of reading and signing notarial deeds, contracts, etc.
“The word 'translation' comes, etymologically, from the Latin for 'bearing across'. It is normally supposed that something always gets lost in translation; I cling, obstinately to the notion that something can also be gained.”
Salman Rushdie, Imaginary Homelands: Essays and Criticism 1981-1991
TRANSLATION
Translation means conveying a message from one language to another. If you are afraid of getting lost in translation, we are here to guide you.
Interpretit collaborates exclusively with professional qualified translators, who, apart from being experienced, are familiar with modern CAT tools. Proofreaders are native speakers of the target language. We can therefore guarantee that your text will be translated accurately and effectively, taking into consideration the cultural reality of the target language.
We provide translation, editing and proofreading services in all EU and non EU languages. Interpretit also provides certified translations (in accordance with the Presidential Decree 169 of 2/7/2002, Greek Official Gazette, 1st Vol.). Our priorities and professional principles include respect towards our clients’ special needs, full confidentiality , as well as punctual delivery of the translated text by the agreed deadline.
More specifically we undertake:
“You can have brilliant ideas, but if you can’t get them across, your ideas won’t get you anywhere.”
Lee Iacocca
TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT
Simultaneous interpreting is the most commonly used and recommended mode of interpreting, particularly in the case of multilingual meetings or big events. Special technical equipment is required for this mode of interpreting, that is to say a special unit (booth), console, headsets and microphones.
The goal is to provide the interpreters with unobstructed view of the speakers and the screens onto which visualized information material is projected and a soundproof environment leaving outside the various factors that can influence the general quality of their work output.
Interpretit collaborates exclusively with reliable mobile equipment rental companies and can make your lives easier by taking care of this aspect of the organisation as well. All you have to do is ask for it!
Our long-standing experience in the conference industry allows us to provide you with the best solution and guarantee the quality of the technical equipment proposed. Finally, by giving you a single quote which includes the interpreting services and the provision of the relevant equipment we can save you valuable time and provide integrated solutions at competitive prices.
